ABOUT
I have a background in film animation and fine arts, and have been working with ceramics since 2017. I use mostly hand building techniques with slabs and pinch-pots, employing a variety of clays; porcelain, and stonewares fired in an electric kiln. I explore different surface decoration techniques that include painting, drawing, linocuts and screen printing. I enjoy getting lost in the meditative mark making of drawing directly on the pieces.

My work is inspired by the beauty and fragility of nature. I hand-build porcelain vases that are adorned with delicate, wilted flowers drawn using an underglaze pencil. The finished pieces resemble charcoal drawings on folded paper, capturing the fleeting nature of life and decay.
The contrast between the enduring physicality of the vase and the ephemeral nature of the depicted flowers serves as a reminder of the impermanence of life and the importance of cherishing the present moment.
